8th Grade Historians: We will be using McGraw-Hill's "Discovering the Past" as our curriculum this year. Our journey takes us from the Civil War to the Vietnam War and hopefully up through Modern Times. History is so important. We need to learn these stories and embrace the narrative that is ours. There will be photos, art, music, projects, videos, books, and other engaging media to immerse us in the timeline. I cannot wait!!!
7th Grade Geographers (and other titles to come): Wow! Do you have some interesting times ahead this year! We are starting with Geography, but will also be touching upon.......WAIT FOR IT.....Psychology, Sociology, Civics, Economics, Types of Government/World Leaders, and Mysteries in History. Be ready to be engaged and enjoy the ride!
6th Grade Readers: We will read poems, dramas, short stories and novels over Loyalty and Respect, Explorers and Pioneers, Space and Time, Challenges and Obstacles, and Different Cultures. There will be a variety of ways that you read/hear the literary word. We will also be covering many different genres--you will be immersed in a wide range of texts. I encourage you to push yourselves as readers this year!
